A defined benefit plan is the automatic payments employees receive after they receive once they have worked in an organization. The amount one will receive depends on factors such as the salary the employee used to get and the number of years they worked (Cox, 2013). It is based on the criteria that the longer one works, the higher the amount of money they are going to receive once they retire. The purpose of the benefit plan is to encourage loyalty and to make the employees work in an organization for a long time. The employees are required to contribute nothing to the plan and can only be accessed once the employee has reached the retirement age. One of choice is by providing group insurance for the employees. It will help the employer to lower the cost of healthcare they can use to provide for the employees. Since it will be a group of employees who will be contributing to the plan, the funds will incur fewer taxes. Less money deducted means the plan can cover more aspects which will be beneficial to both the employer and the employee.
Another choice is allowing employees to choose their preferred healthcare insurance plan. The employees will be responsible for the amount of money they want to be deducted from their income, and they will choose the type of service that benefits them. The flexibility the employer will offer to the patients will allow them to select the best health insurance plan in the market and those that are lower.
