For the Mapworks Assignment that we completed earlier in the school year, it stated my strengths and weaknesses that would help or hurt me throughout my first semester here at UNI. For my basic academic behaviors category (taking notes, turning in homework, recording assignments, sufficient study time) it stated that
I have excellent academic behaviors. A tip it gave me was to talk to my professors to get most improvement in my classes. I believe this score was significant because it really represented me as a student. I try to succeed in every class and put my best effort into every assignment and test. In the class attendence category, it said that I understood the importance of showing up for class. I barely missed any classes…show more content… I actually disagree with the score I recieved in this category. I show up to class on time consistently, make sure I have my academic life in check before attending social gatherings, and write down assignments/ due dates/ test dates/ and check off things when they are completed. I did this all without anyone telling me and it worked very well this semester. Next semester I plan on doing the same thing since this semester it worked well for me. In the academic self-confidence category, I recieved a moderate rating. I believe I recieved this rating because I don’t see myself as the smartest student in the classroom. I try my best and complete assignments on time and study for tests like everyone else. Just because I know I’m not the smartest in the class, doesn’t mean I don’t believe in my academic self-confidence. If I needed help in certain classes, I would contact the professor with my questions and wouldn’t just put my responsibilities to the side and wait til’ the last
