Huckleberry Finn Vs Watson

There are many differences and similarities within the novel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. The author, Mark Twain, used those similarities and differences to symbolize the meaning in specific parts of the novel. Because of that, there are many events that are similar and different, especially with people Huck was close too, such as Miss Watson or the Widow. Miss Watson was always persistent, whereas the Widow was more amiable towards Huck. Although both sisters wanted Huck to be respectful, Miss Watson was aggressive, whereas the Widow was sentimental. In addition, when Huck didn’t follow the rules, Miss Watson would act reproachful, but the Widow would be tolerant and quiet.

When Huck first got adopted by them, Miss Watson would try to teach Huck manners by yelling things at him such as, “Don’t put your feet up there, Huckleberry”, or “Don’t scrunch up like that, Huckleberry”. The Widow was more delicate. She cried over Huck and called him a “poor lost lamb” and other things as well. She gave him many clothes, but she wanted him to be at supper on time.
My last example is that though both sisters wanted Huck to be within boundaries of the rules and live life normally, they react in different ways. Miss Watson gave Huck a lecture as soon as he was home from meeting with Tom Sawyer and took him to a closet to pray. She gave him a warning and called him a fool for sneaking out of the house. The Widow, on the other hand, only changed Huck's clothes and cleaned off the grease and clay. It made him feel guilty and he thought that if he could behave for a while, he would try his best.
There are many characters with similarities and differences within the novel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and all of these characters represent something different. I think that Miss Watson and the Widow had a lot of meaning, not only to the story but to Huckleberry Finn as well. There can be a lot of meaning behind just two characters, and the differences and similarities between the characters prove just
