Human nature is not black and white it's complex. The holocaust shows the complexity of human nature and how humans are capable of ineffable acts of negativity yet, they're also capable of great kindness. Though dying would be a easier way to finish he pushes through for his father and himself showing a great deal of strength. In the movie Schindler’s list, though some of the jews are being beat and stripped of their dignity they still keep fighting to stay alive. Staying alive in the conditions of the holocaust must have been incredibly difficult. The fact that even though those people were in the worst conditions and still managed to stay alive shows integrity.Lastly,the holocaust really is a representation of the strength of human nature and how people can survive through the darkest of times. Even though the holocaust was something that could potentially wreck someone and their spirit, many people survived only through their own strength. During the holocaust selfishness was common even when Elie was close to people “He soon forgot them and began to think of himself again.” This really shows how dark times like the holocaust can lead people to think selfishly. They tend to think about themselves and not worry about their friends family. Not only that, the babies in the baby lab video were happy to see the bear that didn't like the same cereal as them punished in the puppet show. Humans can be very prejudiced to people who are different. Humans can also be mean when they are afraid. On tops of that the little boy “Meir” kept attacking his father even though his father screamed “ Meir, my little meir: don't you recognize me… you’re killing your father… I have bread… for you too.” Meir is being incredibly selfish and taking the bread from his father when his father was willing to share. It’s insane that he could do this to his own father, that the holocaust has made Meir do such a selfish, violent act.
