Auguste Rodin, “The Kiss” was first published in 1886. The sculptures location is in Musee Rodin, Paris. RMN-Grand Palais/Agence Bulloz. Its height is approximately 5’11 ¼. This aesthetic sculpture is made entirely out of marble, and is still very much admired to this day. This life sized human sculpture shows Western ideals of the masculine and feminine, for Rodin represents the lustful desire of that magnificent moment when lovers embrace. The emotions that are felt as we engage the overlook of the hardness of the marble, from which he carved it, and the natural softness of the flesh texture of the unfinished marble supporting the figures.
