As I stated before every immigrant whether it is a child or parent is running away from a someone, someplace, or something, and heading to hopefully something better, “they call this an orphan train, children, and you are lucky to be on it. You are leaving behind an evil place, full of ignorance, poverty, and vice, for the nobility of country life,” (Kline 480). However no one ever informed them the struggle or obstacles they would have to overcome during the journey. As noted in the novel some children were mistreated by their foster parents and forced to work in unsanitized environment. Just as in today’s world immigrant children are forced to smuggle drugs for drug cartels or fall in human trafficking. The children and parents are trusting
