Humanism Project: To Be True About Christianity

For my humanism project, I decided to prepare a speech my topic being some finer details I believe to be true about Christianity. Before I begin, I want it to be known that my intentions are not to start fights with any of you, to force religion upon you, to make any of you feel guilty or bad about yourselves, to offend your religion, or to create the perception that I am perfect, that I know everything about Christianity, and that I have my life completely figured out because that is far from the truth. Please remember that I am not a theology scholar nor do I practice Catholicism and I did the best I could with the information I knew. This is where the humanistic aspect of my project begins. There are three major things that the Catholic Church encourages that I strongly disagree with. Number one, that God is not forgiving and holds your sins against you, number two that humans can’t repay their own sins or the sins of others to get into Heaven, and finally that this religion is about having a direct and personal relationship with Jesus Christ and God instead of having to communicate everything through a priest.
