A dystopia is an imagined place or state in which everything is unpleasant or bad, much like you see in the well known movie called The Hunger Games. In the movie there is 12 districts in the country of Panem. Twenty-four people are selected between the ages of twelve to eighteen to go into an arena and fight to the death of each other. Two people are chosen from each district one boy and one girl. There can only be one survival with the hopes and promises of a better life for them and their families. The Hunger Games is considered an dystopian society because it the citizens live in a dehumanized state, the citizens are under totalitarian control, and the movie contains an dystopian protagonist who notices the differences and feels that something is terribly wrong with the society they live in. …show more content…
Katniss and Peeta are placed in the games and have to fight for food, shelter, and medicine to treat their fatal wounds from battling against others. In the movie Peeta was cemented into rocks and was wounded pretty bad. Katniss had to take care of Peeta and try to save his life and ,in order to do so, Katniss has to fight for a care packed that was sent to help the fighters and there was only four packages available. The package contained food, water, and medicine that would help heal Peeta’s wounds. The country is also dehumanized, because all of Panems personal rights were taken do to rebellion. The citizens are all placed under constant surveillance. In the movie it shows Katniss and Gale outside of their districts barrier and a hovercraft flies over the whole district and forces them to run into hiding. The natural world is banished from all of panem. The citizens are also restricted as to what they know, think, and their personal freedoms were
