In the “I Have a Dream” speech Martin Luther King jr. expresses his outrage at the inequality society has enforced. He believes that equality is important to have in a country as large and important as the United States of America. At the time of the speech many african americans were being discriminated against. Segregation was a huge problem and police brutality was a daily occurrence. He believed that MLK’s speech brought over two hundred and fifty thousand people together of every race just to deliver one message: equality is key.
