For my book, I decided to chose Lucille Ball’s autobiography, Love Lucy. I chose to read about Lucille Désiréé “Lucy” Ball because she has been my inspiration since I first watched her hit show, I Love Lucy. Her acting as a quirky adult helped me out of a state where I thought I would never be good enough. “I’m not funny. What I am is brave.” I live this quote day by day to remember that I can do anything. She has taught me to be the best person I could ever be. Also, she taught me that just because I am a girl, it doesn’t mean anything. She showed me humor and laughter can be one of the best qualities in life. She is a funny, empowering women who broke the gender-biased barrier in the 50s-60s era. I know can relate to her in many ways. One would be as a child, we both grew up with only a mom. Both of our dads died when we were at the age of four.
