- In the section ruby confronting her baby. Harrison showed how Ruby was just another ordinary little girl who played ‘with her doll’. This same scene however also shows the audience the horrible memories that Ruby have in her young mind, as Ruby is nurturing her doll, she is pretending to be her own mother and the doll is being her. For example when she says to her doll “Lets buy a new dress for Ruby, oh you look so pretty in pink” and “I love you ruby”. When saying these things, you realise its all the things that this little girl wanted to hear from her mother. The fact that she was beautiful and that she was loved. This was really emotional for me as the audience and made me feel so heavy and emotional when watching and reading this scene.
