While almost 125 million citizens are employed in the U.S. today, I am an employee who always dreads going into work. I love my job and the people I work with, but I do not enjoy making sacrifices with friends and family. I work for the sake of helping patients progressively heal at Mid-America, which is truly a rewarding feeling, but occasionally I would rather hang out with friends or spend time with my family than spend most of my evening at work. Although work may be a dreadful task, it pays off in the long run with the money and priceless experience. A job is a duty which requires sacrifices and full commitment from an employee. In order to be a successful staff member, one must consider their job as one of their first priorities. I must sacrifice moments with my friends and family, so I can meet the needs of patients and my co-workers. I have the commitment to assist my colleagues and I cannot disappoint them. For example, I am responsible to work every Friday evening; therefore, I did not have the chance to hang out with friends or attend all the football games, unlike when I was unemployed. …show more content…
On nights I am scheduled to work, I have no other choice than to stay up late working on homework and studying for tests. This can become stressful for me and sometimes leads to poor test scores, as well as an inadequate amount of sleep due to the lack of personal time I have. I have discovered ways to attempt to organize my overloaded work and school schedules, but sometimes life does not follow an agenda.
