The terrorist organization in the news for the past several years as a global threat as well as a threat to the United States is The Islamic State (IS, aka the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, ISIL/ISIL. The terror organization has released propaganda videos of members of ISIS dressed in black standing behind their victims outfitted in orange jumpsuits being beheaded by its members. Theses videos are barbaric, unsophisticated, but went viral circulating around the Internet until abruptly removed. The videos had a psychological effect on citizens around the world, instilling fear as well as outrage. ISIS’s fluidity toward killing elevated the group’s position as the top global terrorist organization, public enemy number one. I believe if a terrorist organization were to threaten my community, it would be affiliated with the Islamic State. However, there is a greater likelihood that it would be a lone wolf attack where an ISIS sympathizer would coordinate some type of nefarious attack on the community because they became pseudo radicalized. Although people around the world are becoming radicalized, there are a very few incidents of sparse areas of the United States this is happening to. But due to the current political unrest in the United States and strain on the disenfranchised voters, there is a potential for homegrown terrorism unaffiliated with ISIS in the very near future. Therefore, it is only a matter of when, not if a domestic or foreign terrorist attack in the United States will happen
