The ICN (International Council of Nurses) codes of ethics include four principle elements which are mainly focuses on social values and standards for nurses. Elements of the Codes
1. Nurses and People
Nurse responsibility is to provide nursing care to people. Nursing practice care based on social values, beliefs, and customs of individual or group. The nurse promotes accurate healthcare and information which is required for patients. The Nurse acts as an advocate and safeguarding the patient’s rights. The nurse support the patient who is vulnerable to illness and treats them with compassion and respect.
2. Nurses and Practice
Nurses maintain standards of profession and have responsibility and accountability in practicing their nursing activities.
