Carver Car TV Advert

This video was made as a video to promote a car called the carver car; the car leans as the driver turns the wheel. The videos purpose is to advertise the vehicle, to give the potential buyer an idea of what the car looks like, whether it is comfortable and whether they would want to buy the car. It is aimed at young men, especially ones that like fast cars but also at those men that like gadgets, and the carver car certainly is one.

The video is 1 min 17 secs which means that it’s quite long therefore it can’t be used as an actual advert as an advert block is about 3-7 minutes long. For a tv advert the length should be anywhere from 10 seconds to 30-45 seconds, this is the tactic that I will use.

As The clip is old and was compressed to a small size the quality isn’t too good, therefore the video loads very fast, compressing for the load to be fast is a good technique which is what I will also use.

The scenes vary from 3-7 seconds, this makes the whole advert more exciting instead of watching one clip all the time for a very long time you are watching many, one after the other. I will try to use this technique in my own video.

The use of transitions in this video is rather amateurish as there is only one transition; fade-in/fade-out. This makes it boring, and not too pleasant to watch. I will try to avoid these mistakes in my own video.

The video has only one song playing all the way through it, and has no video effects; this makes it very boring and unpleasant to watch. I will not use this tactic in my video as I am trying to make an aesthetically pleasing and exciting promotional video

The video is an old promotional advert therefore it was recorded in bad quality which makes the video unclean, blurry and pixelated. This is something that I will not do in my video as I want things to be clear

The video has no sudden change in music tone or any other sudden changes therefore there is minimal synchronisation as there doesn’t need to be any. In my video, I will make the clips synchronised with all the music to make a well flowing video

The promotional video consists of continuous clips of men driving the car therefore effects are not present in this game, which is another factor that makes the video boring. I will definitely have effects as this will add to the aesthetic

The text in this video is minimalistic as at the beginning there is a logo saying “Carver” and at the end it says “Carver One, Amazingly Different” and then the logo. Minimalistic text is good but only for certain audiences, but in mine this strategy will not work therefore I shall not use this tactic.

The video could improve on many things starting with making the quality of the video higher, also making the video shorter would make it a lot more interesting. The video should have better music as well as effects to go with it, also the videos should be more synchronised with the music.

Japanese olympics

The videos purpose was to advertise the Japanese Olympics for 2016 , it consists of many clips with ribbons with the Olympic colours on (red, green, black, yellow and blue), the ribbons were travelling through a Japanese town. The video is made to advertise this Olympic event so that people go there and pay for tickets, giving Japan lots of money.

The video is aimed people of all ages who shall want to watch the Olympics at Japan and go there. This video is aimed for all ages whereas my video which is going to promote a high school skiing trip therefore it will be aimed at people of ages 12-16.

The length of the clip is 3:46, meaning that the video is too long therefore is boring for the audience to watch, a real advert is on average 30-40 seconds. This length is way too long for an actual advert therefore I shall not use this method when creating my own TV advert.
