I was born in a family of first-generation that spoke three different languages with mixed culture Eritrean immigrants. In 1998, during the Eritrean-Ethiopian war, my parents were rescued and airlifted to Egypt, with the assistance of the United States government. We are forever indebted to and proud of the role that the US Armed Forces played in our lives. President John F. Kennedy said it best
