Immigrants Are America Being an immigrant in America is one of the many struggles I’ve encountered in life.
Due to the fact that I have a distinct accent behind my English, so I’m deemed as not understandable. I’m not considered a human on certified documents, but instead an alien.Last but not the least my culture and way of life is viewed to be negatively affecting the American culture. If I would have known America was going to treat me “unwanted”, I would have stayed in my country and endured the way of life their. The opponents also argue that immigrants are extracting communal benefits, yet a study conducted by Cato institute found that immigrants are unlikely to use welfare assistance than citizens-both in terms of commonness and dollar amount(Kohn). Finally, opponents argue that immigrants do not assimilate, which is proven to be false due to the fact that when immigrants attend American schools and cannot speak or comprehend the English of the United States, they are forced to take English as a second language(ESL) to adapt to the system and or culture. Clearly based on the information gathered it is right to disregard all three claims. In conclusion, immigrants are apart of America and should not be secluded due to the pictures opponents try to make of them. It would be a national ignominy, in the name of security, if the United States closed its doors completely on immigrants after seeing and enjoying all of the achievements they have brought to the United States.
