Immigrants are known as one of the most hardworking people in America. Immigrants work hard to achieve the American dream of wealth and good life. As they have traveled thousands of miles from their home country, immigrants are not going to abandon their dreams and goals and will do whatever to achieve it. Before I first met a community of immigrants, I never knew the value of hard work and perseverance. My community taught me that hard work and the strength to keep going on will help you overcome anything when I first came to the United States. Being a young immigrant at a new country that is nothing like my old country, I learned that hard work is the only way to overcome the obstacle of being an immigrant. Coming from India and being brought up in a different culture and taught different values it was hard for me to adjust to the United States. Having friends who went through the same thing that I was going through was one the most helpful things that I had during my first two years in the United States. My friends always told me if I put all effort into something that I will be able to reap the reward of my labor later. Being around this supportive community of immigrants, I learned how to fit into my new home. I used the experience and values that I had learned from my first two years and applied it to everything that I have done in my life. As for school, I worked my hardest to be in the top seven percent of the school so that I can go the best university. So many other obstacles were thrown in my face before and I had faced it with hard work and I know when I am encountered with more challenging issues, I shall resolve them with hard
