The United States is known for its law of the land and busy cities, and what it is famous for is what causes families to fall apart. On August 21, 2016, Tatiana Sanchez, author of The San Diego Union-Tribune, stress the importance of immigration policy our country is debating over. Sanchez bring up an example of Emma Sanchez, a mother of two American born children. Emma was deported to Tijuana in a barbaric way, for her deportation happen while she was sleeping and has been banning her from returning to the country. Within six months of 2014, 22,088 unauthorized parents of U.S.-born children were deported, and hundred of the deported immigrant are living in Tijuana like Emma to be closer to her children. President Obama tried to protect the unauthorized parents with his bill to relieve the deportation of 5 million people by legally protect the parents who currently remain in the country illegally. The Supreme Court did not let the law pass. In the meantime, critics claim illegal immigrants are taking the resources and employment opportunities away from the the resident and legal citizens. Overall, the law suppress families union like Sanchez.
My stand is similar to of Tatiana Sanchez, for the laws do have flaws that must be fix. The government’s ruling toward immigrants is unclear and can be bias toward illegal aliens citizen. Immigrant parents, whose children are U.S. citizens, should remain and receive legal protection of the government; however, newborns of illegal immigrants, who reside in the U.S. with spouse of non-U.S.-citizen, from now on under a specific date must return to their origin country all together.
