Could you image living in a world in which technology never was created? Image trying to

find cures for sickness or just simply trying to travel from one place to another. In this paper, I

argue that technology has a huge impact in our society, because of the way that it has help us get

through our daily lives easy, faster, and more effectively. Technology has grown through out the

years as humans have become more intelligent and creative. From the creation of the light bulb

to the creation of the iPhone. The ways in which technology has impacted would be through

education, communication, and health.

The first way in which technology impacts us is through education. Technological

advances in education have been many over the last 50 years. As we look back just 20 years ago,

computers were not common place inside the classroom let alone in the household. Students

today use cell phones that can do almost anything imaginable such as getting real time updates

on their bank accounts, download information off the internet, watch TV or even make a movie.

Imagine going through our everyday life without the aid of a computer, it could be exhilarating

and yet also cumbersome to juggle daily duties (1). Moreover, when technology is used as a tool

to support students in performing authentic tasks, the students are in the position of defining their

goals, making design decisions, and evaluating their progress (2). Technology has helped us

become better multi taskers but it is also a tool in which people can rely on to be creative and

share things with others. The technology in the classroom also effects the teachers that are there

to help the students with what they need. For example since the iPad launched in 2009, schools

in Iowa have replaced textbooks with E-books. They have programs in two thirds of the 600

districts which started these "one-to-one" programs, in which schools provide one iPad for each

student, soon after Apple released the tablet in April, 2010 (3). The teacher is no longer the

center of attention as the dispenser of information, but rather plays the role of facilitator, setting

project goals and providing guidelines and resources, moving from student to student or group to

group, providing suggestions and support for student activity (2). Therefore, it could be said that

technology and bad teachers have no impact and little scale, whereas technology and great

teachers have the ability to help the learner achieve their full potential (4). Even if that is the case

technology is still working towards a positive impact on the students in the classroom. It is a key

item in the daily lives of people around the world.

The second impact would be in communication in our society communication is key whether

its talking to a relative through the phone or trying to follow your favorite athlete on Twitter.

From the invention of the telegraph and telephone to the advent of the Internet, technology has

given people tools to not only keep in
