Duty of care is a legal obligation to protect individuals in your care from harm or suffering, ensure that people are not put at any unnecessary risk and to make sure that their needs and well-being are looked after and respected.
Duty of care affects my work role and contributes to the safeguarding or protection of individuals as in my work role it is my duty to ensure that all clients within my care are protected from abuse from other clients, staff, carers and friends and family. I work within my organizations safeguarding policies and procedures, it is my duty to record any incidents which I may witness as well as any improper behaviour, for example discrimination, or any signs of abuse. It is my duty of care to provide safety and protection
