Importance Of Slaughter In Macbeth

As a Shakespearean tragedy, we can assume Macbeth would be full of death and bloodshed. Looking throughout the play, the deaths were never the actual focal point for the death scenes, rather the slaughter was. William Shakespeare emphasized the importance of Macbeth causing a lot of said slaughter. You can see these efforts in Duncan’s death scene, the bloody child apparition, and the fight between Macduff and Macbeth.
In the beginning of the play, Macbeth is convinced by Lady Macbeth to kill Duncan to make the prophecy come true in which where Macbeth becomes king. Lady Macbeth also tells Macbeth that he must plant the dagger with the guards, so it appears that the guards did it. As he returns from the deed, he cannot do that last task because
