When given an important assignment, how do you approach it?

When given and important assignment, I like to take an assessment of the assignment. A quick list of who, what, when, why, where and how is made for the most efficient way to complete the task. By answering these six questions, it will eliminate problems during the assignment. Who needs it done, what needs to be done, when the assignment is due, why are we doing this, where is this going to take place and how is it going to be accomplished. The who is an important when working with multiple projects or who you are working with on the project. It is important to know without offending anyone how to let someone know there is a project you are working on which has more importance …show more content…
The assessment of the assignment is to determine everything in the project, which needs to be completed. When working with other people on a project, you might need to know what is being done by someone else to avoid duplicate work. The when is the timeliness of the assignment. The time line of a project is important to know when things need to be finished. Some assignments may not be able to be finished until other projects are finished. The project you are working on may have a long time before the deadline but can be extremely important if the deadline is short and conflicts with another project. The importance of knowing when will help to accomplish projects on time and help to interact with others if there is a conflict in the timeliness in which they are due. The why of the assignment is to get things accomplished in a timely manner or could be the reason for the project. The importance of the assignment might dictate when it needs to be completed. The where might be in the office or another external location based on the assignment. If an assignment cannot be completed within the office, you might have to travel to another location to get information to complete a project. The how is based on how the project is conducted from the beginning to the end. It may take several hours or several days to complete the assignment due to the complexity of the …show more content…
I got out of the military and found myself wanting to go back to school. Funding was not an option because I was denied my G.I. Bill due to the current laws at the time.
