Minimum wage: Should it be Increased?
Working Thesis: Many people believe the minimum wage should remain the same, however some argue that the minimum wage is not enough to live on alone.
The federal minimum wage is 7.25 currently, which means an hour of work will buy you a 3-Way at Skyline. The federal minimum wage was put in place by Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1938 to help with the poverty rates. FDR thought that having a set rate at which people would earn income

Although the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour is suppose to be a stable amount of money for one to make a living off of, many states have risen their minimum wage, causing some people to go across borders just to earn a little more.
While in each different state the minimum wage ranges, many if they are close will go across state lines just to get the higher minimum wages.
