Indeterminate sentences will make the best sentencing model in the state of New York. “Individuals who support the use of incarceration usually believe that imprisonment deters potential offenders (Clear. Reisig, Petrosino &Cole p.43). I’m partial to this statement, I don’t believe it will deter a defender but some offenders do need to be kept off the street and out of society. Depending on the severity and nature of the crime I feel an indeterminate sentencing should be imposed. There are pros and cons to both types of sentencing models.
I may be argumentative to say some people are beyond help, for example, mass murderers, serial rapist and repeat offenders (depended upon the nature of the crime). I am not against the three strike policy
