In the book Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade the theme is don’t judge a book by it’s cover because Indy gets betrayed a lot, trusts people he shouldn't, and thought the enemy was on his side.
This first reason to not judge a book by its cover is that Indy is betrayed a lot. The first piece of evidence is that Indy was betrayed by Walter D when he said he was against the Nazis, but was one.
