High school has been referred to as the best time in a person's life. Although this may be true, those who are most often claiming this are those who have already outgrown their high school days. High school can be a very fun and exciting time in a person's life. However, high school can also be a large cause of stress in a student. Much of the stress caused by school can be avoided. However, some of the school induced stress can come from sources outside of a student's control. In Abigail's opinion, the main causes of stressed caused by Lincoln Christian School are procrastination by students, the excessive assignment of work, and the ability of every grade to alter effectiveness on college and scholarship applications.

In Abigail's opinion, a majority of the cases of stress caused by homework overload are a direct result of student procrastination at the start, which then leads to the large amount of work to be done. However, there are rare occasions when a bloated workload presented to a student is given directly by Lincoln Christian School.. This may come in the form of out of school projects, long essays, and big upcoming tests. It is often common that stress caused by an extreme amount of homework comes from the combination of these large projects by multiple classes. The numerous hours a student may spend on this workload can lead to a busy mind. In Abigail's opinion, the effects that everyday grades have on a student's college and scholarship applications are a major contributor to school related stress. There are many student's aiming to enter professions that require college degrees. For those students who are striving to gain acceptance into a college, or are applying for certain scholarships, the grades and scores that they receive are often of great importance. Every test, every project, and every grade has the ability to alter a student's GPA. A student's grade point average (GPA) is a factor that can alter how college boards may perceive a student.
