With my Richmond Guarantee, I would like to continue the work of Richmond student Liz Nigro and further explore educational inequality in the urban setting through the CCE Urban Education Fellows Program. Through this program, I would like to approach this issue in our system b engaging with young students, and examining the public policy perspective, with the goal of ensuring more equitable distribution of opportunity throughout our cities.
In my Social Science Regeneron class at Stuyvesant, I was able to research this topic in New York City using data collected from different school districts. It was evident that there is often no federal intervention to prevent educational redlining that leads to systemic downfalls.
With my Richmond
