The brochure I found was from the Association For Professionals In Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (APIC) website. The brochure is thorough in its coverage of Ventilator Associated Pneumonia (VAP). The layout is simple and not confusing, and it is easy to read and understand. It was developed based on guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control. It is two pages long, and is a well written . It gives a some background about the disease, the rest of the brochure discusses the many ways we can prevent VAP. One can learn important facts about the disease by reading this brochure. The only negative thing I found about the brochure is the length of it. I gave the brochure thirty out of forty points, thereby coming up with the score of 75%. "The SAM instrument yields a numerical (percent) score, with materials tested falling into one of three categories: superior (70-100%), adequate (40-69%) , or not suitable (0-39%)" (Bastable,2014, p.289).
