Finally, the last recommended information system for a successful operation in a business is the transaction processing system. According to Rainer & Cegielski, “transaction processing systems monitor, collect, store, and process data generated from all business transactions,” (2011, p 280, para 5). This process will help to make transaction time for customers move much faster and more effectively. The drawback to this method would be if there were any server interruptions or power outages, causing employees to process transactions manually. Being used to technology and the security of a computer system doing all the work, this may take longer to ensure that the information and the items entered are correct. Another setback might occur if the system is running too slow because there are numerous items entered into the purchase queue, which will cause customers to become irritated or impatient. Even though there are definite risks to consider when dealing with computers and the many information systems that are needed to run a business, the pros definitely outweigh the cons. Each suggested information system will only benefit the company because each information system is designed to make the flow of business productivity to run smoother and more effectively. That is why these information systems are the top five in this proposal.
