The Disney Frozen movie affected the lives of children, teenagers, and parents because of the uniqueness and strength found in the heroines of the movie. Over the past couple of years I have seen countless numbers of girls who dress up as Anna and Elsa, and not just on Halloween. A little girl that I babysit wears her Elsa dress at least three times a week. So what makes these Disney princesses so popular among young girls? According to George Bizer, a psychologist at Union College, his daughter has never liked princess movies. Naturally, he was shocked when the seven year old told him she wanted to see Frozen. When he asked why, she replied “These are strong princesses. I’m going to like it a lot” (Konnikova). There have been other tough Disney princesses like those in Mulan, Tangled, and Brave. However, none have serious flaws that people can identify. Elsa’s flaws cause real problems that people can relate to in specific ways that apply to their individual lives.
