Would you like to go on trip to the Lava Beds National Monument? Maybe you might love caves or perhaps you have never been to one but I am sure you will enjoy traveling to the Lava Beds National Monument! If you do enjoy this trip, why not take others with you to have a little fun like you did. This would be a great field trip for the school to go and of course their might be some dangers on the way, but as long as you are careful and follow the rules everything will be okay.The Lava Beds National Monument is in the state of California and the Oregon sate border. If you follow a solitary road you will eventually come to find California's 'best kept secret"! This park is filled with wonders such as underground caves and volcanic rocks that are full of history and geological fascinations. Believe it or not this park has 47,000 acres and attracts about 130,000 tourists annually. Tourists have the opportunity to explore the underground lava tubes that look a lot like rocky water slides and take guided tours through the park , hike along trails, climb cinder cones, and even learn a thing or two about the natural …show more content…
Another thing that is cool about going to the national monument is that you do not even have to make a reservation! There is about twenty caves that you may explore without even making a reservation. Is that not awesome? Of course there is more caves, but for those you do absolutely have to make a reservation. There is about 27 caves that have different challenges for you. You can have the least challenging, the moderately challenging one, or the most challenging ones of all! These caves were formed thousands of years ago about 10,500 to 65,000 years ago by the lava tubes there. As the lava begin to flow down it started cooling down and solidify on the top and on the sides. Once the eruption stoped and the tube emptied and drained a new lava tube cave was formed!
