Informative Speech About Io

There are many planets, asteroids, comets and moons in our solar system, the Milky-Way Galaxy! Today I am going to be telling you about IO. It is the best moon by far and I will tell you, thoroughly explain why and make sure you understand why.

One of my favorite reasons that IO is the best celestial body because it has more features than any other celestial body. One reason is that when it has a major eruption it looks like It is farting.(From a far) First, IO orbits Jupiter and its Orbital period is 42 hours and has a 12-year orbital period. It has over 400 active volcanoes on it and is the most active body in your solar system. IO was discovered by Galileo Galilei. Io is often called the fire and ice celestia body.

Io is constantly erupting which is covering large landscapes. Io is a way to dangerous to live on due to a highly toxic atmosphere and surface. Io is mostly made of silicate rocks and Io has a very thin atmosphere that mostly contains sulfur dioxide because of the eruptions on Io. Io has sent some(charged) materials that go to Jupiter's rings.

Io leaves a shadow on jupiter for 1.7 days which only last 2 hours on Io. Io is also the fourth largest moon our solar system. The distance from earth is about 390.4 million miles and is about 4.5 billion years old. Io is tidally locked so it always shows the same side to Jupiter.
