It was the winter that Ryan stayed with us at our house. It happened nearly 5 years ago. His father was in the hospital because he had a stroke while driving. Ryan had an option to stay with his sisters, or come to live with us. He had made his decision to stay with us. He was going to stay with us for the next 4 weeks and this all happened during The Winter. We would stay up late most nights and watch movies. and look forward to the morning so we could jump on the trampoline while it had snow on it. Now that I've told you the backstory, I will tell you The Winter I could have died. It was a brisk, winter morning and ryan and I ran outside to jump on the trampoline before the snow melted. We were jumping and we had an idea to play a game. …show more content…
We would build a ramp out of snow and the skateboard ramp I had in the garage to put snow on it and water to make ice. The ice took a little while to form so we waited for it to from while we played penguin. Ryan went first and he got down in 10 seconds and I got down the hill in 8 so I won and he wanted a rematch and he won after that. So we decided to do a tie breaker on the sleds. We played rock, paper, scissors over the blue sled because it was the least chewed on out of all of them(my dog liked to chew on things at that time) and ryan won. We raced and I thought it was only fair that i took the ramp when we went down the hill because he got the good sled. We raced then and I won because I took the …show more content…
We went down the hill a little bit too far on the right and we went straight toward the pond! It was just froze and the ice wasn't thick enough to hold anyone and we were heading straight at it! Ryan jumped of the sled and tried yelling at me to get off of it but my glove was stuck in the sled handle! I tried taking it off but it wasn't working, so I finally got it off and I was already on the pond and the ice was cracking under the sled. I was getting up when I saw my dog, lexie, running down the hill toward the pond as I fell through the ice! I fell through the ice and was trying to pull up on the ice but it keep breaking the ice. I gave up on that and just sat in one spot, floating on my back, when my dog ran on the pond and Bit onto my hood, I thought she was just trying to take my hat off my head because she will take it while we sled. She bit my hood and dragged me out of the pond and left me by the pond and went back into the pond and surprised me! She only went back into the pond to get my sled that was floating where I was before she dragged me out. She brought it over by me and layed by me and I got up when ryan said we needed to go inside to warm up.
