Title of Speech: [Jedi Knight Training]

Specific Purpose: To inform my audience about the training process of Jedi and their responsibilities.

Central Idea: The Jedi Order has survived throughout the ages in the Star Wars Universe by identifying and training force sensitive children throughout the galaxy.

INTRODUCTION

(Credibility) [I have been a massive fan of Star Wars since around the age of five and have watched all of the movies and read the majority of the canon books.
V. (Preview) [To become a member of the Jedi Order a trainee had to complete two stages of training. The first as a Jedi Youngling, The second as a Jedi Padawan, and then finally they would become a member of the order with the rank of Jedi Knight and all of the responsibilities it carries.]
Transition: [Now let us begin our talk with the first stage a person must overcome which is the Jedi Youngling.]
BODY
I. [Main Point I: A Jedi begins its training as a Jedi Youngling, also known as Jedi Initiates.
A. [Sub-point A: Younglings who were discovered to be force sensitive were taken by the Jedi Order to be trained.]
1. [Sub-sub-point A: The Younglings consisted of children between the ages of 4 and 8.]
2. [Sub-sub-point: Upon induction to the Jedi Order the children would be divided into groups of 20 called clans where they would begin training and undergoing trials.]
B. [Sub-point B: The Younglings have to undergo Initiate Trials and special ceremonies before they can become Padawans]
1. Younglings have to memorize and completely understand The Jedi Code which is the guiding principles of the Jedi
