Have you ever woken up in the middle of the night feeling breathless? Have you ever been so disoriented that you can’t seem to know who you are? Have you ever wondered if anyone is actually in charge of their thoughts? Like everything, even dreams come with questions. These questions could have easily been pulled from the mind of a lucid dreamer. When it comes to lucid dreams, most think of very complex mystery. Which is some what true….but also lucid dreams are fairly simple if you know enough about them. In order for one to fully understand lucid dreams, there must be an understanding of what they are, how they affect each person and why exactly they have a place in this world!

But what exactly is the point of a lucid dream? Although we all have our opinions, lucid dreams can be found to be fun, help overcome anxiety, help communication with yourself, help you feel like you are more in touch with your spiritual side, and can help give you artistic inspiration! For starters, let's look at overcoming day to day anxiety! Lucid dreaming may not be a way to fully escape reality, but you can find yourself with some version of a break because of the way lucid dreams are controlled. As New Health Advisor states, “For example, if you are afraid of public speaking, you can practice taking command and building confidence while you are having a lucid dream and take away your anxiety when you awake.” (Unknown 9) Point proven right there! It seems to me that lucid dreams despite a few quirks could honestly be a big help to a lot of people each and everyday. Think about it….. “I have a huge meeting! Oh, why don’t I take a little nap and practice my speech!” Along with overcoming anxiety, lucid dreaming can help a person understand his or herself. Lucid dreams can help you know more about yourself, especially the subconscious part.
