The effects of alcohol use A. Drinking too much at one time or over time can take a toll on your health. 1. Alcohol effects the brain, heart, liver, pancreas and could cause cancer. 2. Drinking too much can weaken your immune system, making your body easy for diseases. B. Alcohol related deaths 1. Nearly 88,0009 people die from alcohol-related causes annually, making it the third leading preventable cause of death in the United States. 2. In 2013, alcohol-impaired driving fatalities accounted for 10,076 deaths .
