In the novel, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, chapters 28-29 illustrates how Tom and Huck figure out that Injun Joe is still alive and is planning revenge. In chapter 28 Tom figures out where Injun Joe’s hideout is. In chapter 29 Huck spots and follows Injun Joe and his colleague walking in the middle of the night with a chest. In the chapter 28 Tom and Huck decide that they should keep an eye on the tavern just in case Injun Joe is there. So Huck said he would watch the tavern during the night. Tom sneaks out one night while Huck is watching and sees if the tavern door was open. Turns out that the tavern door was unlocked and Tom was frightened of what he saw in it, and came out screaming “run for your life!”. Tom eventually tells
