Synopsis: On August 20, 2013, I was dispatched to the intersection of N. 35th Street and W. Highland Ave in reference to an accident with possible injuries. An Accident Investigations Specialist was on the scene to take over the investigation.
Call Information: On August 20, 2013 at approximately 2000hrs, I, Officer was dispatched to the intersection of N. 35th Street and W. Highland Ave, Wausau WI 54401, in reference to a personal injury accident. Upon my arrival on the scene, I was informed by dispatch that an Accident Investigations Specialist will be arriving on the scene in 45 minutes to take over the investigation.
Initial Action: I traveled north on N. 35th Street until I arrived at the scene (at approximately 2010) which was in the intersection of N. 35th Street and W. Highland Ave. I had squad lights and sirens on to allow for motorist and pedestrians to know I was coming. I noticed there were two units involved in the crash. Unit #1 (blue) was rested on the southeast corner of the intersection next to a stop light that appeared to be knocked down in the collision. Unit #2 (purple) was rested on the NE corner of the intersection. I was also able to observe a party was lying on the ground next to unit #2. I positioned my squad car to be able to protect the party on the ground from any vehicles that may not have seen the party or any other hazards. I left room for EMS drivers to be able
