Tim Urban, in his presentation, “Inside the Mind of a Master Procrastinator” states that there are three different elements of procrastination within the mind of a procrastinator. First, element being he “Rational Decision Maker”. This element is based on the charge of making rational decisions for the sake of productivity and is described as a small person at the control of being a bus driver, guiding the person’s brain to make rational decisions. The second element is the “Instant Gratification Monkey” is the part of the brain that loves to live life in the moment. It claims as the monkey that only seeks to do whatever is really easy and excited to do in the present moment and take over metaphoric wheel of the Rational Decision Maker. The last element is known as the “Panic Monster”. It is the part of the brain that describes up as a deadline is really fast approaching.
