The difference between individual racism and institutional racism can be seen on the different levels of the social process. Individual racism is positioned in the micro level and institutional racism is placed in the macro level. Rogers affirms that racism on the individual level can be devastating and it is often easier to deal with (Rogers, 2016). Individual racism created institutional racism due to those personal beliefs being incorporated by one group of people working together at the macro level. This group believes they are superior due to race, education, power, and money.
