Integrity In Sir Gawain And The Green Knight

Authur and his Knights are together when he sees this giant green man. King Authur greeted him and said, "you are welcome in this place", which is the Camelot. Sir Gawain requests a duel/challenge of King Authur and he accepts. The challenge was if you could take the knights' head off, he could keep the ax. The Knights were trained to adhere to the rules, but Gawain refuses to follow those rules. Later, during the year they will have to exchange what they both won. King Authur's wife, Guinevere, tries to seduce Gawain. Sir Gawain showed integrity by being selfless and reliable.
Integrity. for Sir Gawain and the Green Knights the word integrity, meant to be honest, to keep their word, to be loyal and trustworthy. The Knights were expected to be selfless and put others ahead of their own well being. The Green Knight had exhibited integrity by striving and showing commitment to the challenge, of cutting off Gawain's head and keeping the ax. The Green Knight and Sir Gawain had many differences such as: the knight follows the rules, while Sir Gawain refuses to keep the challenge rules. The Green Knight is more deferential than Sir Gawain however, Sir Gawain has dignity in himself.

Green Knight has more integrity than Sir Gawain because the Knight is more deferential than Sir Gawain. Lastly, the knight sends a final test to him, through his wife to see what will be the effect. Gawain stands with blood all on his chest and face and he was feeling disgraced. Sir Gawain repented for all his sins and is pure again, so the Knight makes a clean palette and they return to the castle for the feast and the joyous occasion.
