Interior Design is my passion and the career I want to pursue. My goals for the next several years is to study Interior Design at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising receiving my Associates degree before returning for my Bachelors. My ultimate goal is to become an Interior Designer and own my own business. While in school, I would like to participate in a few internship with Interior Designers to have the hands-on experiences and learn what it is like to have clients. Upon graduation, I want to use my degree, knowledge and experience to open my own business. I would like to not only design the interior of homes, but also businesses all over.

One of my main reasons for choosing FIDM is the fact that I feel this school understands the passion and drive I have for Design. There are multiple schools that I’ve looked into for this field and although they all have great programs, I don’t feel that they relate to me as much as FIDM. I love the endless combinations of materials, textures and colors that can make any plain room unique. Being around my father immensely growing up if we weren’t at home watching HGTV together, we were out at Home Depot or Lowes buying new items to change up our house and arrange it to be more modern. I always enjoyed looking through catalogs from IKEA and Art Van, drawing out floor plans to show my parents how they could change the kitchen or living room. Eventually taking an Interior Design course in high school made me realise I wanted to become an Interior Designer. I love that any place you go, you receive a mood from how each room is designed. I love seeing other people's personalities shown in their homes. Design plays a vast role in everyone's lives, even though they may not
