Restorative Justice is based on repairing the harm caused by criminal behavior. This shows that they have restorative practices .The role that I play in the class exercise is the minister. The minister helped John by protecting him and promote peace in the community. I noticed that the community wanted to get rid of John because they believed that he was a high threat to the community. Community members did not want to give oppurnitues to John because he was an ex-offender who sold drugs to the children. John did not have nowhere to go .He went to the minister in order to be helped. The minister gave him protection by letting him do community hours in the church. Therefore, they are not hired because of past convictions. Also, they would be limited to education and jobs oppurtunities.The jobs that they might acquire is low minimum jobs and no full time jobs. Also, they are not allowed to obtain public housing and no food stamps. They are not allowed to vote and obtain work licenses. The support that they can get is government programs for employers that were ex-offenders .Those programs would give them a chance to prove themselves that they changed by giving them .In the other hand, they would be programs that help them obtain job training and obtain housing.
