In James E. Porter’s reading, “Intertextuality and the Discourse Community” he explains what interxuality is and how it works within discourse communities. In the reading, he explains the two types of intertextuality, which are iterability and presupposition. Iterability basically means that texts contain parts of other texts that help the reader understand make up the meaning.
