“ Into the wild” is a book written by Jon Krakauer which tells a story about Chris McCandless who chooses to live alone in solitude in attempt to discover himself and understand life. In Sean Penn’s movie about the novel, you can clearly see how McCandless had a life ahead of him. However he wasn’t happy not understanding connections and it was something he had to figure out in order to continue his life as Chris McCandless, so he became Alexander Supertramp and set out “into the wild”. Shaun Callarmen commented on Chris’s life and thinks he was ignorant, and made many mistakes deciding to go into the wild, and thinks he was just crazy. So I don't agree that what he did was ignorant and crazy. However I do agree that he should of been more prepared for when he would find the answer and want to come home. He should of been more prepared to live out in Alaska and survive. He started to understand loneliness and why many people share connections because we need it. I feel like he should've been ready to be proven wrong, and come home. I believe that McCandless had an answer he was searching for but other than that, he did feel content being out around nature and himself, he enjoyed solitary and being in the wild. Regardless if he was looking for something and wasn't able to return. The past years he spent being on his own, weren't wasted since he was content. You have to connect with McCandless to understand why he wanted to get out of society and be alone. Throughout the whole movie Chris was clearly acting upon the idea that true happiness came from new experiences and not human relationships. This theme comes up multiple times. At the end of the movie, when he writes that happiness is only real when shared, he is admitting that he was wrong or at least partially wrong. You can find yourself at your most content when you are surrounded by nature, alone, but in reality you are not alone because
