To many middle-class citizens, the upper class is thought of as snobbish or selfish people. Wealth accumulation corrupts people over time as they become detached from significant others and family members. They become less empathetic about the things in life that really matter. They overtake an ill-mannered attitude toward people. Money can corrupt us as we become greedy. What are your thoughts on wealth accumulation? Does it corrupt?

As we all know, countless amounts of people become very greedy when they become wealthy. We see this all around the world and in everyday life such as media. In the book “Into The Wild” we analyze through the book of how people in Chris's life were greedy such as his parents. Chris says that his parents are very materialistic and he will never be as greedy as them. Later in the book, Chris will explicate to the reader that his parent is one of the reasons he left on his voyage. Likewise, we see greed in other books, movies, songs. In the movie “Focus” we see Nicky, played by Will Smith, becomes greedy with his with betting on plays and loses all his money. In the fictional book “The Christmas Carol”, The Scrooge’s, main character, the scrooge lust for money controlled him, in result no sharing anything, especially on Christmas. We see in songs such as the musical artist Jessie J. sings “Price Tag”, regarding greediness

Examples such as in the book “Into The Wild” Chris’s dad sacrifices the time to spend with his family, in doing so leading Chris McCandless leaving to travel Alaska. Furthermore Nicky from “Focus” sacrificed winning money while betting on whether the plays in the football game would go his way. We convey this in the book “A Christmas Carol” when the scrooge sacrifices his marriage with his fiance belle because of the lack of attention he paid to her.
