Preparations

Preparations are the main goal before going on your big Journey. Especially if your plan is to climb the most deadly and high altitude mountain in the world, Everest. From the book into thin Air, it shows you that being well prepared before your adventure can possibly save your life. Without the preparation that are needed you have a great risk of never making it up or down Everest. There are very important points and tools needed to be apart of your preparation list, such as equipment, food, liquids, clothing, etc. Into Thin Air clearly points out what happens when the team were prepared to climb this dangerous but glorious mountain.

Guides and leaders have to plan ahead of time, such as mapping out the route you have to hike on and to make sure everything is in its place and stable enough to walk across. Leaders have to locate their access points and make plans for if there is an emergency they take the precautions and make sure everything will be okay and work out. Before the hike they have to go over the rules and the potential hazards that may occur to their whole group. Guides and leaders also help prepare the other hikers like asking them if they all have the proper attire and are ready for the long dangerous hike. Leaders have to make sure that they pay close attention to where they're going and planning ahead knowing which direction they're going and what the plan will be when they began their hike. After getting to there designated camp leaders have to make sure there whole group is still in contact with them and make sure they are all in tent and are getting warm and have food and hot liquids.

Most of the characters in this book were not as prepared as they thought they were. They mostly thought that it was going to be a semi-easy trip but they all soon realized that once they came upon the mountain it was going to be a lot more dangerous. Most people didn’t what the terrain was going to be like so they just went for it hoping they would make it and unfortunately some people didn’t. When it came
