The Story of The Invasion of Poland The Invasion of Poland was much more than a war for more land. Germany had been keeping to the terms of the Treaty of Versailles but nevertheless, Germany was stretching the rules regarding training. Britain then agreed to let Germany break the Treaty of Versailles, so Germany started preparing for a big war. The Invasion of Poland was how Hitler intended to start World War 2. The invasion was part of bigger plans that led to greater conflict than the conflict over Poland. The Invasion of Poland marked a very important event in history and let to the start of World War 2. When Poland started mobilising its army, Germany said Poland’s action broke the non-aggression pact Poland had with Germany, now Hitler had a reason to fight. When countries found out Hitler had been expanding the German military, they started joining their forces together. This result was in opposition to Hitler’s original desires. He had desired his opponents to be isolated to themselves, and did everything possible to prevent them from forming any strategic alliances within Europe. Hitler knew that if he did not act fast, then the alliances might have enough military power to corrupt Germany. Hitler started the war with Poland so he could take action before any alliances started. Britain and France were not convinced that Hitler attacked Poland out of defense, so they were thinking about starting a war with Germany. Britain and France gave Germany a period of time to withdraw their troops from Poland, but Germany take action (“Germans Invade Poland”). Poland barely had any other options, and they had nowhere to go. Britain and France then started to think about what their next step would be.
