Point 2: What if non-native invasion is a symptom of a larger threat?
Invasive species are species whose population tend to grow and spread, and cause harm to native biodiversity, the economy, or human health (USDA 1999). Invasive species are non-native plants, animals or other organisms that historically have been located at different regions and have moved to a new region without any natural predators or competition which control their spread in their native region. Historically, invasive species have been seen as damaging to the native fauna and flora, which are just symptoms of a greater threat to biodiversity, like climate change.
